A graduate from Wingate University, Corey didn’t even realize he was interested in architecture until he was hired to manage the office of an architecture firm out of college. Once there, Corey became obsessed with expressing his natural creativity through architectural design, learning how to draft and soaking up anything and everything he could to improve his knowledge and proficiency along the way. Corey brings more than 15 years of professional experience as an architectural designer, including residential, commercial, restaurant and church projects to the table. His problem-solving and creative abilities make him a good addition to the SCOPE team.
What about architecture interests you most?
The ability to pull together disparate elements to create something functional and, hopefully, beautiful is an excellent way to express creativity and simultaneously feel like one has accomplished something that can improve society in some way. I also really enjoy problem solving which, as anyone who has ever worked in architectural design will know, is a key part of the design process.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love listening to music, watching movies and tv shows, telling corny jokes and laughing at peoples’ reactions.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
I prefer the mountains to the beach, as I’m averse to the sun and to heat in general. I also enjoy hiking and trees and I dislike sand.
