Line 8 Expansion

Integrated architectural and engineering systems pioneer creative designs and progressive solutions for Bausch+Lomb expansion.

Bausch+Lomb, one of the world’s largest suppliers of eye care products, turned to the expertise of SCOPE to expand production at their Greenville, SC site. Their new Line 8 15,000 SF addition includes a state-of-the-art clean room that meets Class 100 / 10,000 (ISO 5 / ISO 7) standards, a new packaging line, and a mezzanine level that houses mechanisms for the vertical movement of bottle conveyors. To highlight the building’s purpose, glass housing was design around a section of the conveyor to display its mechanical operations.

This project required extensive coordination with engineering and equipment manufacturers to ensure that new spaces would accommodate fill-line equipment and necessary work flow. All renovated and expanded areas were designed to comply with the latest drafts of cGMP criteria, ISPE Baseline Guides, FDA facility design guidelines and ISO standards.
